Meet our community

The Jesus Menino Community, founded by Antônio Carlos Tavares de Mello in 1990, is an association of the faithful dedicated to welcoming, adopting and protecting men and women with disabilities. Today, 47 special people live in the community, located on a donated farm in Petrópolis and maintained exclusively by donations. Our mission, inspired by God’s Grace, is to offer a family life and care to them and to continue expanding this work of love and service.

We are a family that is constantly growing, and we are looking for people who, like Antonio, feel the desire to dedicate their lives to this mission. If you feel this calling, we invite you to learn more about our community. We hold two meetings a year, and you can sign up using the link below. We want to walk alongside families, single lay people and couples, who wish to live the fatherhood and motherhood the same way our mother Mary and Saint Joseph did, defending and protecting life.

If you are between 25 and 55 years old, or are a widow or widower with no dependents, you can also be part of this vocational path. Join us in our mission to be a family for the little ones who need it most.

Sign up and live this transformative experience!
