Theme of the reflection: Why and for what am I called here?
“Coming to his hometown, Jesus taught the people in their synagogue. They were astonished and said,
‘Where did this man get such wisdom and miraculous powers?
Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother called Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas? Where then did this man get all these things?’
And they took offense at him.”
(Matthew 13:54-58)
Knowing the family of Jesus, His parents, and details of His life did not lead the people of Nazareth to truly experience His wisdom and miracles. Many times, we also accumulate knowledge about Him that remains only as information and does not become a transforming encounter.
This Vocational Month invites us to take a step further: to recognize God’s voice calling us and to discover the purpose for which He wants us here.
